Is Islam a religion of peace?

………… I see Muslim apologists deceivingly trying to convince the world by portraying their religion as peaceful. Let us see how valid their claim is.

Muslim apologists claim that Islam has moral teachings that instruct Muslims to be righteous, trustworthy and supportive of each other. They often quote the following Quranic verse to substantiate how precious human life is according to Islam: “…. whoever kills a human being, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind.” (Q5:32). Note: (Q5:32) refers to the Quranic chapter and verse.

This verse would stand out as an exemplary paradigm set by God to his followers in order to protect the lives of all human beings. However, if one looks deeper into the verse, and into other teachings of Islam, one will see things in a different light. The following is an analysis of the freethinking and critical perspective that would enable one to judge whether Islam is truly a religion of peace.

Let us start with the aforementioned verse.......

CAN ISLAM BE REFORMED AS A RELIGION OF PEACE?

This can only be done by Allah, either directly by revealing a new Quran or bringing Mohamed back to change the existing Quran and many of his so-called divine hadiths. The reformed Quran should not include verses or decrees supporting slavery, misogynistic teaching, child marriage, fighting and killing nonbelievers, unduly severe punishment, the disfiguring of human bodies, revenge, hate, vulgar speech, inequality, and puzzle codes (see pages 66 & 67)......
